FULL LIST: Judiciary appoints 35 new chief magistrates

The newly appointed chief magistrates will serve in their positions for one year being confirmed permanently.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Uganda Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed 35 new chief magistrates in the latest developments at the Judiciary arm bringing the number of chief magistrates in the country to 74.

In a statement released on Sunday, April 24, Ms. Maria Teresa Nabulya, the JSC communications officer confirmed the recruitment of the new chief magistrates saying this is in fulfillment of the expanded Judiciary structure whose goal is to have a chief magistrate in every district.

The newly appointed chief magistrates will serve in their positions for one year being confirmed permanently.

The majority of the appointees are grade one magistrates, while others have been working at Law Development Centre, Office of the IGG, and other government agencies.
