Rev. Canon Enos Kagodo elected new Bishop of Mukono Diocese

Kagodo replaces Rt. Rev James William Ssebaggala who clocked the retirement age of serving Bishops after clocking 65 years.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Rev. Canon Enos Kitto Kagodo has been elected as the fifth Bishop of Mukono Diocese, the House of Bishops announced in a press statement on Wednesday morning.

Rev. Canon Kagodo is set to be consecrated and enthroned as Bishop next month on February 26, 2023, at St. Philip’s and Andrew’s Cathedral, Mukono.

Kagodo replaces Rt. Rev James William Ssebaggala who clocked the retirement age of serving Bishops after clocking 65 years. Ssebagala will now retire but continue to serve God in the new capacity as a retired Bishop.

Born on 13th December 1968 in Nakisunga Sub-country in Mukono District, Rev Kagodo holds a Master of Divinity degree and a Bachelor in Health Administration from Uganda Christian University. He also received diplomas and certificates in the same fields.

At the time of his election as Mukono Bishop, He was serving as the Provost of St. Philip’s and Andrew’s Cathedral in Mukono. He also served as a parish priest, Archdeacon, and Diocesan Health Coordinator in the same diocese.

He was ordained as a deacon on June 9, 2002, and later a priest on December 12, 2004.

Rev. Enos is married to Catherine Namuddu and God has blessed them with seven biological children and many spiritual children.

In a related development, Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe and Rev. Canon Simon Akol Aisu have also been elected as the next Bishops of North Kigezi, and North Karamoja Dioceses respectively.
