Kyabazinga Kasiki: Thousands of Bazzukulu empowered with wealth-creation tools in poverty eradication drive

Jinja, (UG): The Office of the NRM National Chairman led by the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye Friday pitched camp at Bugembe grounds in Jinja where the gospel of self-empowerment was preached to the Bazzukulu in Busoga Kingdom through a wealth and job creation drive.

The ONC which organized the first-ever Royal Kasiki for the upcoming Kyabazinga wedding empowered various youths and women groups in the sub-region with an assortment of types of equipment to help them kick poverty out of their homes.

Some of the events given out by the workaholic Namyalo included; welding machines, deep fryers, car washing machines, G-Nuts grinding machines, brick laying machines, hoes, spraying pumps, fertilizers, seeds, popcorn machines, and saloon equipment among others.

While addressing thousands of beneficiaries from across the 12 districts that form the Busoga Sub-Region, Hajjat Namyalo preached to the youths about the urgent need for every Ugandan to embrace economic guidance preached by HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

She said that the package was purposed to start up and expand Small and Medium Enterprises with the objective of creating wealth and jobs for the people of Busoga, especially the Youth and Women.

“We all know how hardworking Basogas are, we all know that the yummy chapatis we enjoy most here in Kampala are something that was initiated by Basoga, and we also know very well how these people support our beloved Jajja Museveni. He has not forgotten you, that’s why we are here. We are here to empower you, to move together to the money economy,” she said.

Hajjat Namyalo also revealed to the basoga that all she is delivering to Ugandans under her current empowerment drive is directly from her boss, the President. ”All this equipment you see here has been sent to you by the President himself and he still cares for you, but all he wants is to see you get out of poverty. Jajja wants us all to get better and that can only happen if we are empowered which is what we have come to do here!,” she said.

The Premier thus called upon all youths and the entire Busoga region to use the capital items effectively as they celebrate with their King and their queen-to-be.

Some of the organized Bazzukulu groups that received capital items include; Busoga Kingdom Skilling Group, Kiwumo Youth Development Association, Buwaji Youth Carpentry Group, Sisimuka Women Development Group, Kyabazinga Voluntary Guards, Busoga Bulaleire Group, Bukono Youth Group, Bukhono Mpango Youth Group.

Others were; Namagera Ghetto Youths Group, Namungalwe Parish Youth, Nakigo Women Association, Buwenda Youth Group, Jimuka Group, Vision 40 Development Group, Bunya Youth Group, Mayuge Hair Dressing Women’s Group, Bugembe Ghetto Youths, Lubaga Food Processors, among Others.

Meanwhile, the ONC boss’ drive for Jobs and wealth creation comes in handy to empower youths to engage in various income-generating activities to refute the UBOS findings which put Busoga among the poverty-stricken regions in the country.

The move also anchors to the NRM’s five promises of; Creating Jobs and Wealth, Delivering Education and Health, Ensuring Justice and Equity, Protecting Life and Property, and Achieving Economic and Political Integration as detailed in the NRM Manifesto 2021-2026.
