Kampala, (UG): Evolve Group Africa is poised to orchestrate the third iteration of the prestigious Uganda Marketing Excellence Awards (UMEAS), marking a highlight in the marketing industry. The gala, an opulent affair set for December 1st at the esteemed Kampala Serena Hotel, is anticipated to outshine its predecessors in grandeur and significance.

In a remarkable surge, over 200 submissions have flooded in from more than 50 of Kampala’s foremost corporate entities. This notable influx encompasses the elite echelons, featuring distinguished entities such as premier banks, leading telecom corporations, top-tier fast-moving consumer goods brands, and prominent marketing and creative agencies.

Contrary to conventional expectations, the UMEAS accolades are not the exclusive domain of well-established conglomerates. Small and medium-sized enterprises have also thrown their hats into the ring, vying for recognition in this year’s nominations.

The meticulous curation of nominees is underway, subject to stringent evaluation criteria. This responsibility rests in the capable hands of a select six-member jury, comprising luminaries in the industry.

These experts were handpicked based on their leadership acumen, contributions to the profession, extensive experience, and academic qualifications. They not only supervise the entire nomination process but also wield the authority to choose winners in the awards’ six special categories.

As the eagerly awaited announcement of nominees approaches, the jury diligently finalizes their assessments, narrowing down a list of finalists. Some will undergo public scrutiny through votes, while others will be decided solely by the discerning jury. The gala night will witness the unveiling of all the winners.

The composition of the jury was strategically designed to uphold professionalism, credibility, transparency, and fairness throughout the process. Esteemed members include Dr. Benedict Mugerwa, Head of Professional Marketing Courses at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI), Ngulumi Immaculate Nabatte, Chief Manager Marketing and Branding at Centenary Bank, John Paul Okwi, Senior Manager Events and Sponsorships at MTN Uganda, Rogers Anguzu, Commercial Director at Crown Beverages Limited, Barbara Arimi, Head of Marketing and Communications at NSSF, and Jackie Namara Rukare, CEO of Iguru Consult Limited.

In a highly anticipated showdown, top-tier brands will vie for the most coveted honors across 12 categories, featuring three new additions this year.

Corporate tables for the event are priced at 2 million shillings, individual tickets at 100,000 shillings, and CIM students can attend for Ugx 75,000. Booking for tickets can be made at 0703115242/0772358292.
