Cote d’Ivoire’s extraordinary performance on home soil propels them ten places higher in the FIFA Men’s World Rankings, settling at an impressive 39th position in the whole world.

The ranking update unveiled just four days after the AFCON’s conclusion, unveils a tapestry of significant movements among African sides, reshaping the global football landscape.

While the top ten remains unaltered, the heartbeat of change resonates within the CAF regions. Nigeria, the valiant finalists of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON, soared 14 places to 28th, a testament to their prowess in the tournament.

Yet, it’s Angola that steals the spotlight, leaping an astounding 24 spots to claim the 93rd position after a remarkable AFCON run.

This surge into uncharted territory aligns with Senegal’s historic breakthrough, as the Terangg Lions achieve their highest-ever FIFA ranking at 17th, despite bowing out in the round of 16 against Cote d’Ivoire. Senegal’s resilience echoes the tournament’s transformative impact on team standings.

The rankings further spotlight African teams on the rise, with Equatorial Guinea (79th, up 9 places), South Africa (58th, up 8), Cabo Verde (65th, up 8), Namibia (107th, up 8), and Mali (47th, up 4) showcasing notable improvements.
