Kampala, (UG):- Police in Kampala Metropolitan have confirmed that Milly Naluwenda, a Buganda Kingdom traditional court clerk is in their custody to help with investigations on the gruesome murder of End Daniel Bbosa Lwomwa on Sunday evening.

Ms Naluwenda was arrested on Thursday when armed personnel donning casual wear invaded her premises in Kitunzi Zone, in Lungujja, Rubaga Division amid live bullets to disperse the residents.

Paul Werikhe, a son of Nuluwenda, told journalists that her mother was whisked away in a Toyota Hiace commonly known as Drone and threw her inside the vehicle.

In a brief statement on Friday afternoon, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Mr Patrick Onyango confirmed that Ms Naluwenda is in police custody after leads in the investigations revealed she was in extensive communication with one of the killers of the fallen clan head.

“Last night, the Crime Intelligence unit conducted an operation in the Lungujja area of Rubaga Division in Kampala, resulting in the arrest of one suspect, Milly Naluwenda. The arrested individual is held to aid the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Uganda Police Force,” Mr Onyango stated.

The KMP boss called on members of her family to remain calm as investigations progress. It remains unclear whether Naluwenda’s arrest is linked to the murder of Omutaka Lwomwa or other crimes.

“We urge members of her family to remain calm as investigations progress,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister, Owek Charles Peter Mayiga Friday welcomed the new Ndiga Clan, Eria Buzaabo Luggya Lwasi, who was selected to replace the late Daniel Bbosa as burial arrangements get underway.

Ndiga Clan Head Murder

Eng Bbosa, 72, who was also the director of Transa Electrical, was travelling from Buikwe District on Sunday when he was shot dead by three assailants riding on a motorcycle at around 6 pm near his home in Lungujja, Lubaga Division, a Kampala suburb.

Detailing an account of the circumstances surrounding this heinous incident, Police Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga Monday revealed that the assailants riding on motorcycle Reg No UFX 854F (disguised with a cello tape to read UEX 754 E), reportedly first parked in a corner along the road leading to Bbosa’s residence at Kikandwa zone, Lungujja Parish in Lubaga division.

As the 3 assailants tried fleeing the scene, Enanga stated on Monday this week that the assailants were pursued and knocked by a courageous bodaboda rider at Bulange–Mengo, after which they fell down.

“He (the boda boda rider) went on to raise an alarm, that attracted an angry mob, which aggressively pursued and arrested two of the assailants, who were trying to flee on foot. The suspects were seriously beaten by the irate crowd and one of the assailants identified as Serunkuma Enock died on the spot,” Mr Enanga stated.

“The second suspect sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he was later identified as Lujja Noah, now under close guard by CID personnel. A third suspect fled from the scene,” police said.
