Mbale Networking Club donate Sh3.6m towards Wapomokha church construction

Mbale, (UG):- Mbale Networking Club (MNC) has fulfilled its Shs3.6 million pledge, made through its Patron Don Innocent Wanyama to contribute towards the Construction of St. Luke Church of Uganda, at Wapomokha, Musese, Busiu, Mbale District.

Mr Wanyama, the CEO of Vision Group, made the pledge during the burial of the late. Alum Lorna Lucille, the wife of Jeremiah Mutambo a member of MNC, on 30th December, 2023.

The shs3.6m contribution was delivered by a team led by the Club Chairperson, Michael Wafana during the church service on East Sunday, April 01, 2024.

Mr. Wafana while delivering the cash said, “We give this pledge in furtherance of our core values of familyhood”. He added, “The laity of this community gave our members a warm reception a couple of months back as we buried Lucille”.

Wafana encouraged people to serve in order to gain fulfilment. “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others,” he said quoting Mahatma Gandhi.

The Mbale Networking Club (MNC) is an organisation founded in May 2021, as a savings and investment club, and duly registered in Mbale City as a CBO to participate in charity activities, partnerships and collaborations countrywide.

The current membership stands at 56 members from all professions including Lawyers, Academics, Doctors, Engineers, Public Health Specialists, Social Scientists, Business, among others.

The vision of the association is “to be a club that enhances the social and economic welfare of its members”, yet its mission is “to create a platform where members socially interact and realize the social and economic benefits of Synergy”.

The Secretary-General, Opwony Sam, says, “As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to society, we also engage in humanitarian service provision through providing lifesaving assistance (food and non-food items) to vulnerable populations; and participating in resource mobilization and support towards welfare of underprivileged, community-based partnerships for direct assistance and support to identified communities in need”.
