African Rural University boss Dr Musheshe to develop Universities’ Research Framework

Kampala, (UG):- Dr Mwalimu Musheshe, an Ashoka Fellow and the Vice Chancellor of African Rural University, took centre stage at the Vice Chancellors Forum Leadership Workshop, held at Best Western Hotel, Entebbe. 

Among his notable roles, Dr. Musheshe has been handpicked as one of five experts tasked with crafting a collaborative research framework for Ugandan universities.

This pivotal decision was made during the Vice Chancellors Forum Leadership Workshop, running from April 4th to April 5th, 2024, under the theme: “Quality Leadership as a Strategic Driver for Growth, Sustainability, and Competitiveness in a Challenging Higher Education Environment.”

Emphasizing the significance of collaboration, Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe highlighted its manifold benefits, spanning intellectual, human, physical, and financial resources. He underscored how university partnerships can expedite research outcomes, fostering both growth and innovation.

The esteemed committee, comprising renowned scholars such as Dr. Musheshe, Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo, Prof. Lawrence Muganga, Prof. Paul Waako, and Pelucy Ntambirweki Kabahuma, will spearhead negotiations for a research and innovation fund.

Providing technical expertise to the committee is Professor Barnabas Nawangwe, the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University.
