“It has a connection to some money the president had donated as condolence. It is believed that he did not deliver all the money. I think he declared less by 2 million out of 10m. He has given me a statement as the investigation continues, DPC Kapere said, adding that police have since advised that the matter be resolved through mediation.

Speaking to DailyExpress over the same incident, the Apac Resident District Commissioner, Mr Gorge Abdul said Oyuku’s act tarnishes the image of the office of the president of Uganda.

Abdul also sent a tough warning to the members of the public not to meddle with Presidential donations.

“Many times the president sent condolences but some greedy people swindled some part and this tarnished the office of the fountain of honour. This time am sending a warning that whoever will be found to have swindled presidential donations will be arrested, investigated, prosecuted and if found guilty shall be put in jail,” Mr Abdul said.
