Alien Skin arrested, remanded to Luzira over assault of Nsambya Hospital staff

Kampala, (UG):- Controversial musician Patrick Mulwana, aka ‘Alien Skin’ who was Wednesday afternoon arrested over the violent assault of medical staff at St. Francis Hospital, Nsambya has been remanded to Luzira Prison until 9th December 2024.

Police Spokesperson ACP Rusoke Kituuma confirmed the arrest of the Fan Gone Forest gang leader in a brief social media post via his official account on X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday evening.

“We have in our custody musician Patrick Mulwana, alias Alien Skin, whom we have apprehended on allegations of assaulting medical staff of Nsambya Hospital,” ACP Kituuma posted, adding; “more details to be shared later.”

Aline Skin’s arrest comes at the backheel of a viral video which went viral online since Tuesday night showing the musician and members of his Fan Gone gang popularly known as “Eggaali” involved in a heated altercation with medical personnel at Nsambya Hospital over their deceased colleague Jerome Tumwesigye who allegedly succumbed to accident injuries at the facility.

Jerome, 28, a resident of Makindye Division, who is also a member of the Fangone gang was reportedly admitted to Nsambya Hospital for medical treatment after sustaining injuries in a car crash but died an hour later due to internal injuries according to the hospital administration.

But in the aftermath of their colleague’s death, the musician and his gang reportedly turn violent turn demanding answers from the medical staff at the facility about their colleague’s passing.

“One individual, identified by witnesses as ‘Alien Skin,’ allegedly demanded medical forms from the attending doctor,” ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police revealed in an earlier statement on Wednesday morning.

“When his demands were not met, the suspect and his group reportedly assaulted the doctor and two security guards before fleeing the scene,” he added.

The musician however posted via his X account on Wednesday afternoon saying the initial medical attention given at Nsambya Hospital seemed to have stabilized their colleague’s situation but were left dismayed after paying the necessary bills only to be told an hour later that Jerome is dead.

“Initial medical attention was given, and we paid the necessary bills to secure treatment. His condition seemed stable and was improving, as confirmed by the attending medical team. There is suspicion that the hospital may have mishandled his care, or worse, engaged in unethical practices,” a post read on @AlienSkinUg’s official X account.

But Police said they are now focusing on identifying and apprehending Alien Skin and the group he was with, who are believed to be directly linked to both the suspected murder and the subsequent assaults.

“We assure the public that efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Owoyesigyire stressed, appealing to the public for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
