Kamuli, (UG):- Clergy and residents of Kamuli District Saturday gathered for a Thanksgiving service in honour of Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, Uganda’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs.
The event, held at Lugoloile Primary School in Mbulamuti Town Council, was organized by Rev. Canon Kisule Moses Ssalongo to celebrate Kadaga’s outstanding service to Kamuli, Busoga, and Uganda at large.
During the service, prayers were offered for Kadaga’s continued protection, guidance, and blessings as the country approaches the 2026 general elections.
Rev. Canon Kisule Moses Ssalongo emphasized the importance of supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government and its leaders. “I appeal to you, the young generation, to always support the NRM government through Kadaga and President Museveni,” he said.
In her remarks, Rt. Hon. Kadaga expressed gratitude to the organizers and the congregation, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their support for the NRM government. She assured the community of forthcoming developmental projects, including the commissioning of the Busoga International Airport in Kimaka, Jinja City, during President Museveni’s PDM assessment tour.
“When President Museveni comes to Busoga, he will set off the construction of Kimaka Airstrip to an international airport,” she said, applauding the efforts of the local leaders and community in driving development initiatives.
Hon. Muzaale Martin, the Member of Parliament for Buzaaya Constituency, echoed similar sentiments, urging the electorate to stand by Rt. Hon. Kadaga and the NRM government as they approach the 2026 elections.
“We still have hope in you, Mama Kadaga. I urge all electorates to continue supporting her and the NRM government in the forthcoming elections,” he said.
Sheikh Ismail Swabiru Kazibwe, the District Khadi of Kamuli and Buyende, prayed for Kadaga’s continued strength and health to serve Uganda with dedication. “God, we thank you for the gift of life given to our Mama so that she continues to serve our community and country at large,” he said.
The service highlighted Kadaga’s profound influence on the region and her pivotal role in advancing both local and national development. The event also reinforced the unwavering support she enjoys among leaders, clergy, and the community in Kamuli.
