Kampala, (UG):- Uganda Premier League side Uganda Police FC have officially completed the signing of striker Emmanuel Peter Loki from KCCA FC on a six-month permanent contract, with an option for extension.
The 23-year-old South Sudanese international brings a wealth of experience to the Cops, having played for the South Sudan Men’s National Team and featured for U20 and U23 sides, as well as Soltilo Bright Stars.
In a club statement, Uganda Police FC expressed excitement over Loki’s arrival, noting his potential to bolster the team’s attack. “We are thrilled to announce the signing of striker 𝗟𝗼𝗸𝗶 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹 from KCCA FC,” the club said.
Loki joins his former coach Simon Peter Mugerwa at Uganda Police FC, with whom he previously worked at Buddo SS, Soltilo Bright Stars, and Bulemeezi in the Masaza Cup.
This move marks a new chapter for the forward, who last played for KCCA FC during the previous season.
His arrival follows a significant shakeup at KCCA FC, as the club confirmed the departure of six players, including Loki, Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa, Juma Ibrahim, Abubaker Mayanja, Elvis Mwanje, and Joseph Ogwang.
Ssenoga, Loki, and Juma mutually agreed to terminate their contracts with the 13-time Uganda Premier League champions.
The Cops are currently sitting in 10th place on the UPL table with 18 points after 15 matches, and Loki will be hoping to make an immediate impact as the team looks to improve its position in the league.
This transfer also comes amid Uganda Police FC’s recent losses of key defenders Denis Iguma and Martin Owalamu to Tusker and Mbarara City, respectively.
