Ngora, Uganda: Top three Ugandan schools, Buddo Secondary School, St. Mary’s Kitende, and Bukedea Comprehensive School, secured their spots to represent Uganda at the upcoming Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games following a thrilling end to the 2025 USSSA U-20 Boys Football Championship.
The national final, played on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in Ngora District, saw Buddo SS clinch their third USSSA football title after a tense 6-5 penalty shootout victory over archrivals St. Mary’s Kitende, following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Buddo’s substitute goalkeeper, Owen Mukisa, emerged as the hero of the day, saving a crucial penalty from Kitende’s Santos Agok, before Ronald Ssegirinya netted the decisive winner to clinch the third title for the Wakiso zone giants.
Bukedea Comprehensive School secured the bronze medal, ensuring their qualification for the regional tournament.
The three finalists will join defending champions Amus College School at the 2025 FEASSSA Games scheduled to take place in Kakamega, Kenya, from August 14 to 22.
The 2025 FEASSA tournament will feature a range of sports disciplines, including football, athletics, basketball, rugby, volleyball, and more, bringing together top secondary school teams from across East Africa.
Uganda aims to defend its overall title, having topped the medal standings in the previous edition with 38 medals, including 13 golds.
