Kampala, Uganda: The search for Miss Africulture Uganda 2025 kicked off with a colourful unveiling ceremony at the National Theatre on Saturday, May 31, spotlighting a new pageant that seeks to celebrate Uganda’s cultural diversity through food, language, customs, and traditions.
This inaugural edition of Miss Africulture Uganda brings together contestants from all regions of the country, including Northern, Central, Western, and Southern Uganda.
Among those unveiled were Kemigisha Orieen, Tusiimirwe Martha, Patience Norah Nanono, Adoch Patricia Cynthia, Namubiru Pauline, Nabusubi Christine, Nakyanzi Katerinah Gloria, Namutebi Shanice, and Karungi Jennifer.
Nakyanzi Katerinah Gloria, a Tourism and Hospitality student at Victoria University, said her goal is to use the platform to promote agriculture and traditional medicine.
“Besides agricultural promotion, I would like to promote the use of herbal medicines in Uganda because of the advantages they have over modern medicine,” she said during the launch.
Tusiimirwe Martha, representing Western Uganda, emphasized her commitment to instilling cultural values among her peers. “I would like to educate my peers about the Ankole culture because I come from Ankole, which is rich in culture,” she said.
Nabusubi Christine, a student of Catering and Hotel Management, said she intends to leverage digital platforms to spread cultural awareness. “I would like to use social media platforms like TikTok to promote African values and cultures because most young people are getting their information on social media,” she noted.

According to Mrs. Geraldine Nababiito, the pageant coordinator, the top three finalists, along with the overall winner, will represent Uganda at the Miss Africulture International Beauty Pageant, a continental event expected to attract participants from across Africa.
Voting for the best contestant is currently underway at africavotes.com, and will close on June 27. Winners will be crowned at a grand finale scheduled to take place at MOTIV in Kampala on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
