Bushenyi, Uganda: With chants of “Kinawolovu” echoing across Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality, Counsel Ndyakira Nicholas Muhereza, who recently picked up nomination forms to contest for Member of Parliament in the 2026 general elections, is reigniting youthful political momentum in the constituency.
The former Presidential Legal Advisor and long-serving aide to President Yoweri Museveni was cheered on by supporters as he made his way to the NRM party offices, declaring a focused bid to represent the people of Bushenyi-Ishaka with integrity, vibrancy, and vision.
“The time has come to transition from serving behind the scenes to directly championing the needs of our people,” Csl Ndyakira said, shortly after picking up MP interest forms on Monday.
Kinawolovu: More Than a Slogan
Among the youth and grassroots mobilisers, Ndyakira is popularly known as “Kinawolovu”, a symbol of connection and resilience. The phrase, which has become his official campaign anthem, solidifies his deep rapport with the local population, especially young people who vibe to the Kinawolovu song with energy.
Ndyakira’s campaign team confirmed to DailyExpress that they are set to meet Nandor Love, the artiste behind the hit song, for a formal partnership to be part of his 2026 campaign season.
“Kinawolovu has become a household name in Bushenyi-Ishaka,” said Ndyakira’s campaign coordinator. “It represents a message of hope and shared struggle.”

The Ndyakira Promise
Citing Bushenyi’s urgent need for effective representation, Counsel Ndyakira pledged to focus on;
- Job creation and youth empowerment through income-generating initiatives.
- Upgrading health facilities to better serve rural and peri-urban communities.
- Fixing the deteriorating road network to boost trade and reduce transport costs.
- Improving education and digital access to align with national development targets.
Born and raised in Bushenyi district, Ndyakira comes from a family deeply rooted in business and politics. Their legacy has inspired him to embark on his own journey in public service. His aspirations go beyond politics; they’re about making a real, tangible difference in the lives of the people of Bushenyi-Ishaka.
With a decade-long experience in legal and political service at the highest level of government, Ndyakira brings a wealth of experience and a fresh commitment to inclusive development.
His entry into the race has already triggered visible excitement, particularly among the youth, who describe him as approachable, visionary, and well-versed in the realities of modern governance.
“We see in Ndyakira a leader who understands our generation’s struggles,” said a student leader from Valley University of Science & Technology in Bushenyi. “He listens, he acts, and he’s ready.”
The Bushenyi-Ishaka MP seat is shaping into one of the most watched contests in western Uganda as political momentum builds toward July NRM primaries.
