Namyalo urges NRM youth to embrace discipline, wealth creation at Katwe Empowerment drive

Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo speaks to the thousands of youths who gathered at Katwe grounds on Wendesday where she rallied them to embrace discipline and reject opportunists ahead of 2026 elections.

Makindye, Kampala: President Museveni’s Senior Presidential Advisor and National Coordinator of Bazzukulu, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has urged Kampala-based NRM youth groups, ghetto gangs, and women to embrace discipline, reject opportunists, and uphold party values as the country heads toward the 2026 elections.

The Chief Muzzukulu’s response came in response to the disturbing videos and events where goons dressed in yellow T-shirts beat up and robbed innocent Ugandans disguised as part of the procession that escorted the President as he expressed interest as NRM’s flagbearer and National Chairman last Saturday.

Hajjat, who is also the Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), told the Bazzukulu who gathered at Katwe Ku Kisaawe for a mega empowerment event themed ‘Abanaku Tweyambe,’ to ensure they don’t fall prey to tricksters disguised as Museveni agents when they just want to tarnish the party’s good image.

Hajjat reminded beneficiaries who got hundreds of wealth creation items that were given out on the day that the tools and equipment distributed were not only meant to fight poverty but also to instill responsibility and purpose among the Bazzukulu.

“This support is to help you rise out of poverty, but I am also here to remind you that discipline and unity are critical. Don’t allow self-seekers to use you for acts that are against our party’s values and Jajja’s vision. The NRM stands for peace, progress, and dignity,” Hajjat Namyalo told hundreds of youth gathered under the scorching Wednesday heat.

Over 30 toolboxes, 150 mattresses, 50 sewing machines, 50 welding machines, 20 car washers, 20 ovens, 50 hair and hand dryers, 5 bricklaying machines, 20 popcorn machines, and 10 groundnut grinding machines were handed out to different groups, while football jerseys and boxing jabs were also given to nurture sports talent in Makindye’s ghettos.

The ONC Boss further rallied the Bazzukulu to mark July 5th as a historic date when President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, fondly called Jajja, will be officially nominated both as the NRM presidential flag bearer and as National Chairman.

“Let us stand prepared to show the whole country that Makindye and Kampala at large are behind Jajja’s leadership. We must work and mobilize peacefully, without violence, because that is what our Chairman teaches us,” Hajjat Namyalo emphasized.

At the same event, Apostle Benson Kayondo of the Reformed Generation of Pastors and Preachers Association (RGPPA), who were co-organizers of the event, praised Hajjat Namyalo’s approach of empowering Ugandan youths, especially those in Ghettos, which he said, has brought about transformation in several people’s lives:

“This initiative is changing lives in the ghettos. Many families here had lost hope. Today, they go back with skills and tools to start afresh,” Apostle Kayondo noted.

Selected beneficiaries DailyExpress spoke to expressed gratitude and thanked Hajjat for extending the now-famed ONC empowerment drive to the Ghettos of Makindye.

“This sewing machine will help me provide for my children. I am thankful for this chance to change my life,” Nakiwogo Sarah, a single mother from Katwe, noted, adding, “This is an assurance that I will ably vote for President Museveni, because the opposition cannot do such.”

Makindye Deputy RCC, Ms Caroline Nashemeza, lauded President Museveni for funding the ONC empowerment drive, saying in verbatim, “Some people have been forgotten due to bottlenecks in existing government programs. This initiative fills that gap and gives hope. Come 2026, let us reject the protest vote and stand with President Museveni.”

Electrifying performances from top Ugandan artists, including Gravity Omutujju, Ykee Benda, and San Yo, alongside several local Makindye talents, climaxed the event as Makindye Bazzukulu celebrated the spirit of empowerment, unity, and resilience.
