Hakim Kyeswa’s nomination set for tomorrow as NRM CEC race heats up in Central

Kyadondo, Kampala: Hakim Kyeswa, a proven NRM youth leader and seasoned political mobilizer, will be officially nominated tomorrow, Friday, July 4th, 2025, as he submits forms to seeking representation on the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) Member, as Vice Chairperson for the Central Region.

Kyeswa, who currently heads Digital Media at President Museveni’s Office of the National Chairman (ONC), is widely regarded, by political analysts, as a frontrunner in the race as a wave of youth-led enthusiasm sweeps across the NRM structure elections.

A former Mukono Youth Leader, Kyeswa recently secured victory as Publicity Secretary on the Mukono District NRM Executive Council during the Party’s grassroots elections, reinforcing his popularity and track record in mobilization.

“This is not just a personal journey, it’s a generational mission to re-energize our Party with fresh ideas, youth-driven action, and a renewed commitment to service,” a determined Kyeswa said in a statement on Thursday afternoon ahead of his nomination.

“I humbly invite you to walk this transformative path with me. Because as we always say: Nothing for us without us. Let’s build the future we deserve,” he added.

Observers say the outspoken youth leader represents a new generation of NRM leadership ready to fill the vacuum as many of the Party’s historical figures gradually bow out.

His grassroots appeal, digital strategy expertise, and youthful energy are being seen as the key ingredients that make him the favourite to clinch the seat.

Kyeswa’s nomination, DailyExpress understands, will take place at 10am, at the NRM Headquarters, Kyadondo Road, where the Party is currently receiving aspirants for the top CEC positions ahead of the 2025 delegates conference at Namboole.
