Lukungu Ronald named Kyabazinga FC head coach

Kamuli, Uganda: Kyabazinga FC has appointed Lukungu Ronald as their new head coach on a three-year contract, with his tenure set to begin on October 1, 2025.

Lukungu, who also manages Bugabula FC in the Kyabazinga Masaza Cup, will now take charge of guiding Kyabazinga FC as they prepare for their maiden campaign in the Province League.

Speaking after his unveiling, Lukungu expressed delight at joining the team, pledging to build a competitive squad capable of rising to the top.

“I am very pleased to be here and proud to join this new project of both Kyabazinga FC and Kyabazinga College Kamuli school team as their new coach. My objective is to work hard to get the very best from the team and to ensure that we are very competitive,” Lukungu said.

“This opportunity adds more to my career, and I promise to give my best so that this team progresses from the Province League to the Uganda Premier League,” he added.

Kyabazinga FC President and headmaster of Kyabazinga College Kamuli, Mr. Wanume Hussein, welcomed the new coach, describing him as a credible leader with a proven ability to develop young talent.

“When we looked at the direction of our team, we decided to recruit Coach Lukungu because of his ability to nurture new talents. We wish him success and promise him total support. Our ambition as a team is to play in the Uganda Premier League, and we believe the new coach will help us achieve this dream,” Mr. Wanume said.

The chairperson of the Kamuli District Football Association (KDFA), Mr. Katamba Noah, applauded Kyabazinga FC management for promoting grassroots football in the district.

“I want to thank Mr. Wanume for promoting young talents. His school is performing well in school competitions, Kyabazinga FC is doing better, and Bugabula FC is also progressing. I believe this will help young footballers to continue with their careers,” Mr. Katamba said.

Kyabazinga FC earned promotion from the Fourth Division last season and will now compete in the Province League.
