Kamuli, Uganda: Catholics in Kamuli Parish took to the streets on Good Friday in a solemn procession commemorating the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, in a powerful public expression of faith and reflection.

The procession, led by parish priest Rev. Fr. Benedict Wakabi, popularly known as Kyuma Kiyaka, began at the Catholic Parish headquarters in Lubaga, Kamuli Municipality, and wound its way through town as believers carried the Cross.

Addressing the faithful, Rev. Fr. Wakabi said the procession was a moment for Christians to reflect deeply on Christ’s sacrifice for humanity.

“As Christians, we are called to emulate the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. By participating in this procession, we are reminded of our duty to love and serve others,” he said.

He emphasized that Good Friday is not merely a ritual but a call to live a life of sacrifice, forgiveness, and compassion. “We must be willing to carry our own crosses, forgive those who wrong us, and love our neighbours as ourselves,” he added.
