Kampala, Uganda: The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has unveiled its new e-Registry, an integrated digital platform that replaces the Online Business Registration System (OBRS) and brings all of the bureau’s core services under a single online portal.
Dubbed “One Platform, All Services: One Seamless Experience,” the new system is designed to simplify access to URSB services while improving efficiency, transparency, and the overall customer experience.
According to URSB, the e-Registry consolidates multiple registration services that were previously accessed through separate systems into one unified digital platform.
The new portal provides seamless access to business registration services, intellectual Property (IP) registration, copyright and neighbouring rights registration, insolvency services, security interest registration, and the Non-Individual Register.
The bureau said the digital upgrade represents another milestone in Uganda’s ongoing digital transformation agenda and efforts to improve the country’s ease of doing business. “This upgrade is designed to improve efficiency, transparency, and user experience while advancing Uganda’s digital transformation and ease of doing business agenda.”
The launch comes as URSB continues implementing reforms aimed at modernising public service delivery through technology.
In recent years, the bureau has accelerated digitisation of its services to reduce paperwork, shorten registration timelines, enhance data security and enable individuals and businesses to access services remotely.
The new platform is also expected to strengthen service integration by eliminating the need for users to navigate multiple systems when accessing different URSB services.
The e-Registry further supports government’s broader Digital Transformation Roadmap, which seeks to leverage technology to improve public service delivery, promote innovation and strengthen Uganda’s business environment.
Businesses, innovators, creators, legal practitioners and members of the public can now access all URSB digital services through the new portal at https://eregistry.ursb.go.ug.
The rollout marks one of URSB’s most significant digital reforms in recent years as the bureau continues positioning itself as a technology-driven institution supporting business growth, investment and innovation in Uganda.
