In his recent address of the nation on Covid-19, President Yoweri Museveni threatened to sack all RDCs, CAOs, and DHOs who fails to mobilize teachers for vaccinations leading to the expiry of covid-19, vaccines.

In the recent batch of covid-19 vaccine doses which was the fourth received by the district, there were 1645 dozes of Sinovac and 1840 dozes of AstraZeneca and by yesterday, September 29, 2021, the vaccines have been used up as there was a rush for jabs.

The Covid-19, surveillance focal person Paul Olony in his report to the district task force said with intensified mobilization and effective communication the mindset of the people has changed.

Paul Olony said even some of the teachers who remained defiant for a long tie were able to respond even at the eleventh hour and took the jabs.

The DHO, Dr. Drametu Dominic who looked relieved said more strategic approaches should be employed so that there is a total change in mindset since the targeted population size for the vaccination exercise is 96.000, yet about 7.000 people have been vaccinated.

The RDC Taban Data Peter, who was all smiles said he was very much aware that the task force could not remain a tail in the fight against the corona pandemic because of the level of preparation at the onset.

“I don’t doubt the competence of the task force, the speed and impetus of our work need strategic positioning to enable us to go in the right direction”. The contented RDC bragged.
