NUWAGABA FELEX: Are vocational skills still relevant in the 21st century?

Year in year out, the president of Uganda has come up with different initiatives aimed at wealth and job creation which includes EMYOOGA and PARISH MODEL where people with vocational skills have also been targeted like farmers, carpenters and tailors to mention.

The government of Uganda through the ministry of education and sports started TVET (Technical, Vocational Educational and training) which is becoming the foremost resource of the 21st century.

Since innovative power and competiveness are directly linked to learning and knowledge, the transfer provides the indispensable, sustainable basis for a secure future that is worth striving for hence representing the key success factor for social advancement and economic growth.

Vocational skills provide a fuel for technological progress and success for a long run hence solving daily problems like unemployment through acquiring knowledge and different innovations  

Through vocational skills, Nyamitanga technical institute Mbarara led by its department of plumbing was demonstrating how the entire Nyamitanga hill can be connected to a public sewer so as to preserve the environment, save and process water to mention to the community which proves the relevance of vocational skills even beyond this century.
