HOIMA, UGANDA: The state Minister for Bunyoro affairs Jennifer Namuyangu Kacha has directed the arrest of the Hoima City environment Officer Ronald Kyamanywa accusing him of mismanagement of government projects and the misuse of public funds.

Kyamanywa was arrested on Tuesday afternoon during a community dialogue that attracted different leaders from both national and local government levels at Kitara Secondary School in Hoima West city division.

In the dialogue, Kyamanywa was asked to give an accountability of the funds that were given to the Hoima city environment department meant for planting over 1000 trees in different parts of the city as one way of decorating the Hoima city.

However, Kyamanywa failed to give accountability on how much funds his office received and how was this money distributed, plus where the trees were planted.
This forced the Minister to direct police to arrest the officer with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, residents also raised their concerns about the poor road and health services in Hoima city and asked the minister to intervene.
