For their safety, the players and officials remained in the middle of the pitch as they waited for security to deal with the trouble. Police fired bullets and tear gas to disperse the rowdy fans.

This is the second incident of fan hooliganism this season. Last week, Villa fans threw stones at match officials shortly after being beaten 2-1 by Wakiso Giants at Wanukulukuku Stadium.

Wakiso Giants doctor Keith Walusimbi was hit on the head with a rock and had to receive medical attention. Police also fired tear gas and bullets to disperse the violent fans.
