BUGWERI, UGANDA: Bugweri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) in Bugweri Ms Janet Billy Mulindwa who is also the chairperson security committee in the district has advised parents to care for their children during the holidays, especially this Christmas festive season.

Speaking to DailyExpress on Friday, Ms Mulindwa said that most parents tend to become irresponsible during the Christmas holidays by letting their children to loiter everywhere which most of the time yields problems.

“I want to ask parents to monitor the discipline of their children, where they stay and whom they stay with during these days of Christmas to enable them back to school next year without any problem. I urge children to obey their parents and avoid loitering irresponsibly,” says RDC Billy Mulindwa.

However, Ms Mulindwa has also pledged total security to the district during and after Christmas and she urged the public to report any suspicious individuals and incidents around their areas.

“We have done whatever it takes to have a secure district during and after Christmas. We request the public to help us and report any person who comes to your areas during these days especially when you suspect them to be criminals,” RDC Billy Mulindwa added.

Meanwhile, RDC Billy Mulindwa urged revellers events organizers, and organizers of overnight prayers, among others to first seek permission from security citing that they should be vigilant, especially at this time when members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel group are trying to enter the country before facing off with Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

This comes amidst security vigilance where all event organizers during this festive season must seek permission from the top security offices in the country before the event according to the earlier guidelines provided by police.
