Kampala Flyover Project: UNRA announces latest traffic flow change

Drivers, riders and pedestrians from the city centre via the Clock Tower junction towards Nsambya and Mukwano Road will use the new section of Nsambya Road.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has announced latest traffic flow changes along Gaba road due to the ongoing work on the Kampala flyover construction and road upgrading project.

In a Joint statement signed by UNRA and Shimizu Konoike JV, the company executing the flyover project, motorists intending to access the city centre from Gaba and Nsambya Road will have to use the new overpass road at the clocktower junction effective immediately.

Additionally, there will be a change in traffic flow from Mukwano Road towards Ggaba and Nsambya Road, with road users required to use the new overpass road through the new section of Nsambya Road.

Traffic from Ggaba Road will use the new overpass road to proceed to Clock tower junction and the city centre while traffic from Ggaba Road to Mukwano Road will continue using the new overpass road along Villa Park normally.

UNRA said the traffic Police and project staffers will be at hand to guide road users in affected sections and urges all motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to obey the traffic management guidelines and signage.

To ensure safety, pedestrians have been guided to use the provided pedestrian walks.
