ALEBTONG, UGANDA: Just after a week after Otuke LCV chairman Abola Francis crossed to the ruling NRM Party from UPC, the Alebtong LCV Chairman David Kennedy Odongo [UPC] who doubles as the chairperson of Lango LCV and Mayors Forum has distanced himself from moving slowly to join Yellow bus of Movement again.

DK Odongo told DailyExpress on Monday that he has not been approached by anyone persuading him to cross to NRM from the UPC party.

There was speculation last week that the outspoken Alebtong district boss had been approached by some section of NRM supporters so he joined the NRM yellow bus.

“As a UPC cadre, I am moving well with my councillors and LC3 chairpersons who are in leadership under the NRM ticket. I have not yet been approached if they admire my method of work, it is not bad, let us not cross the bridge before we reach the bridge,” said Mr Odongo DK.

According to DK being an opposition is not a bad thing but the most important thing is service delivery and doing the work.

For my comrade Otuke LCV chairman Francis Abola, I think he has not written an official letter to leave UPC otherwise we are waiting to hear from him. Abola was on 16th May 2023 welcomed to the NRM by His Excellency the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who also doubles as the party’s national chairman.

Meanwhile, in a related development, DK Odongo also received a brand new Police Patrol Vehicle from President Museveni following a request he made weeks ago during the presidential tour at Baralegi State Lodge in Otuke district.

Museveni in the same meeting with Otuke leaders directed that there should be 18 police officers per police post to curb crimes and ensure the safety of the residents and their property.
