Iganga, (UG): The Minister for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba has shown dissatisfaction with the disunity among leaders in the eastern district of Iganga.

The minister, who hails from Bukooli in Bugiri district says a number of leaders have initiated fights to the extent of disagreeing with one another on the development project.

While officiating at the International Youth Day celebrations for Iganga District at Nakalama Primary School on Thursday, Ms Lumumba called upon leaders to get united and lobby as a team and also have respect for the people they serve.

She thanked Iganga municipality Mayor Bamu Lulenzi that despite being in NUP, he has always credited gov’t in development projects.

“Recently some of you have been writing letters to various offices to stop the market from coming to Iganga and some ministers who came on fact-finding missions were abused and I have always stood to neutralize them out of anger,” Ms Lumumba said.

“Among the districts in Busoga, Iganga is number one in having disunited leaders but I want to beseech you to work together and have one voice to lobby projects. Giving you leadership doesn’t mean mistreating your people, so respect your electorates.”
