Police postpones interviews for PPC jobs, here is why!

Kampala, (UG):- The Uganda Police Force said Friday it had postponed interviews for over 5000 shortlisted applicants for the position of probationer police constables (PPCs).

The interviews had initially been scheduled to take place from April 8 until April 14, but “due to unforeseen circumstances”, they have now been postponed to April 22.

The development was confirmed by Deputy Police Spokesperson, Ms Claire Nabakka who revealed that specific dates for the interview dates in each district will be communicated in due course.

“The Uganda Police Force had initially scheduled interviews for shortlisted applicants for the position of Probationer Police Constables to take place from April 8th to April 14th, 2024. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the interviews have been postponed to April 22nd, 2024. Specific interview dates for each district will be communicated accordingly” she said in a Friday statement.

Ms Nabaka further directed all regional Police commanders, regional Police public relations officers, district Police commanders and community liaison officers to disseminate this information to the public.

“All RPCs, RPROs, DPCs, and CLOs should disseminate this information to the public within your respective areas of responsibility. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause,” she stated.

The Uganda Police in February, under reference number REF: HRM/138/160/01/VOL. 3/17, advertised at least 2,500 PPC jobs, inviting applications from suitably qualified Ugandan citizens willing to join the Uganda Police Force.

The 5000+ candidates are now set to compete for each police constable position whose remuneration will be under the UG SCALE- U7 (the salary scale).
