NCHE accredits Victoria University’s Bachelor of Pharmacy Programme

Kampala, (UG):- Victoria University Kampala is currently in ‘celebratory mood’ after the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) finally accredited its Bachelor of Pharmacy Programme, making VU the sixth accredited institution in Uganda to offer this distinguished program.

The accreditation came after experts from the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU) and NCHE last month carried out a joint inspection and verification exercise at the Jinja-road-based varsity to ascertain its credibility in running this programme.

This publication understands that the team from PSU and NCHE were left bemused by the world-class standard of the laboratory, modern equipment and highly skilled lecturers they found at Victoria University, thus the swift accreditation.

“We are thrilled to announce that Victoria University’s Bachelor of Pharmacy program has been accredited, making us the sixth university in Uganda to offer this distinguished program. This accreditation reaffirms our commitment to providing a top-tier health science education and equipping future pharmacists for successful careers with the support of a state-of-the-art Pharmacy Laboratory,” VU said in a post via its official X handle, formerly known as Twitter.

“We extend our gratitude to the National Council for Higher Education (@nche_uganda) and the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (@PharmacistsUg) for their roles in achieving this milestone. We invite prospective students to register and join us in advancing their careers,” the past adds.

Reacting to the good news, Victoria University Vice Chancellor, Prof Lawrence Muganga commended PSU and NCHE for the accreditation and vowed that the University’s zeal to foster a supportive learning environment, drive innovation, and meet healthcare needs, both locally and globally, is highly boosted.

”Meeting the rigorous standards set by the NCHE and having the most state-of-the-art pharmacy laboratory in Uganda highlights our commitment to excellence in education and preparing future pharmacists for successful careers,” Prof Muganga, the famous author of the E.Africa’s 1st AI book dubbed ‘From Chalk to CHATBOTS’ noted in a post.
