Entebbe, Uganda: The Entebbe Magistrate’s Court has issued a criminal summons against controversial land broker Muhammad Kamoga, requiring him to appear on Monday, September 29, 2025, to take plea on charges of forgery and fraud.
The summons, signed by Grade One Magistrate Edgar Tusiime, follows fresh accusations that Kamoga forged the practicing certificate, signature, and official stamp of lawyer Lorna Nkamwesiga in order to fraudulently acquire 200 acres of land in Garuga, Entebbe.
Kamoga, who has long been a controversial figure in Uganda’s real estate sector, is now battling multiple charges, including obtaining land registration through false pretenses and uttering forged documents.

The latest developments come after court sessions in the ongoing fraud case stalled when Kamoga’s lawyers, led by Brian Tindyebwa, told court their client was hospitalized with heart-related complications. The defense presented medical documents sent through Kamoga’s sureties, among them Katabi Town Council Mayor Ronald Kalema.
The revelation of Mayor Kalema as one of Kamoga’s sureties left complainants stunned, with some questioning the credibility of the land broker’s claims of ill health.
In a ruling earlier this month, Magistrate Tusiime directed the state to verify Kamoga’s alleged hospitalization before granting any further adjournments.
“The state shall verify the information provided to court and thereafter court shall be at liberty to take action,” the magistrate held, after State Attorney Paul Byamukama Aheebwa strongly objected to Kamoga’s request for a long adjournment.
The case has reignited public debate on fraudulent land dealings in Entebbe and surrounding areas, with complainants demanding expeditious handling of the matter to deter future cases of forgery and land theft.
