Kampala, Uganda: Abaho Badru, the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Media Coordinator for Greater Masaka, has credited the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Manager, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, for supporting his academic journey, which has earned him a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from Kampala University.
Abaho, who was among thousands of graduates at the university’s 23rd graduation ceremony held Thursday, April 23, at the main campus in Ggaba, expressed gratitude to Hajjat Namyalo for her mentorship and empowerment throughout his studies.
“I am deeply grateful to Hajjat Namyalo for believing in me and supporting me throughout this journey. Her encouragement has been instrumental in helping me stay focused and complete my postgraduate studies,” Abaho said.
Abaho described his academic achievement as a milestone shaped by resilience and guidance, noting that balancing professional responsibilities with academic demands required discipline and consistent support.
“There were moments when the journey felt overwhelming, but the support and motivation I received kept me going. This achievement is not mine alone, it reflects the people who stood with me along the way,” he added.
He used the occasion to encourage young Ugandans, particularly those involved in leadership and community work, to prioritise education and self-improvement.

“I want young people to understand that leadership must go hand in hand with education. We must equip ourselves with knowledge if we are to effectively serve our communities,” Abaho said.
Abaho’s remarks highlighted the growing influence of mentorship within youth leadership structures, particularly within ONC, where young leaders are increasingly being encouraged to pursue academic and professional growth.
“Hajjat Namyalo has consistently challenged us to aim higher, not just in leadership but also in personal development. Today is proof that such guidance makes a difference,” he noted.

The graduation ceremony, held under the theme “Empowering a New Generation: AI, Innovation and Sustainable Development,” saw a total of 3,514 students graduate across various disciplines.
The event attracted several national figures, including Hajjat Namyalo, who attended and delivered remarks encouraging graduates to focus on job creation and personal discipline.
With his postgraduate qualification, Abaho said he is committed to applying his knowledge in public administration to strengthen service delivery and community engagement. “This is just the beginning. I am ready to use what I have learned to contribute meaningfully to society and support government programmes at the grassroots level,” he said.
