Mbarara City, Uganda: The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has commenced a three-day Business Rescue and Aftercare Programme (BRAP) training for entrepreneurs and business owners in Western Uganda, as part of efforts to strengthen business resilience and sustainability.
The training, which started on Wednesday at Hotel Triangle in Mbarara City, will run until June 13 and is aimed at bringing business recovery and sustainability support closer to enterprises in the region.
Implemented in partnership with the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), the programme seeks to equip participants with practical skills to navigate business challenges, improve governance structures and build long-term sustainability.
According to URSB, the initiative is designed to support businesses facing operational, financial and management challenges while promoting strategies that enhance resilience and competitiveness.
Participants are expected to undergo training in key areas including business recovery planning, corporate governance, risk management, business continuity, and sustainable growth practices.

The programme forms part of URSB’s broader efforts to create a supportive business environment by helping enterprises recover from setbacks and strengthen their operational foundations.
The training at Mbarara will bring together business owners, entrepreneurs, company directors, and other stakeholders from across the Western Region, providing them with an opportunity to learn from experts and share experiences on business sustainability.
URSB noted that by extending BRAP trainings beyond Kampala, more enterprises across the country will be able to access critical business support services and knowledge needed to survive and thrive in a competitive economic environment.
