Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has renewed concession agreements with Marasa Africa for the continued operation of Paraa Safari Lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge, and Chobe Safari Lodge for another 30 years.
The renewed agreements reinforce one of Uganda’s longest-standing public-private partnerships in the tourism sector and are expected to deepen investment in hospitality infrastructure while supporting conservation and sustainable tourism within the country’s protected areas.
The concession agreements were signed by UWA Executive Director Dr. James Musinguzi on behalf of the Authority and Mr. Aswa, who represented Marasa.
UWA said the renewed partnership will enhance visitor experiences, strengthen tourism investment and support the sustainable management of Uganda’s national parks over the next three decades.
Marasa Africa, a subsidiary of the Madhvani Group, operates some of Uganda’s most renowned safari lodges strategically located within protected conservation areas.
Paraa Safari Lodge serves visitors to Murchison Falls National Park, Mweya Safari Lodge is situated in Queen Elizabeth National Park, while Chobe Safari Lodge overlooks the River Nile in Murchison Falls National Park.

Over the years, the lodges have played a significant role in positioning Uganda as a premier safari destination by offering high-end accommodation and wildlife experiences to both domestic and international tourists.
The renewed concession is also expected to sustain employment opportunities, attract additional tourism investment, improve service delivery and enhance Uganda’s competitiveness in the regional tourism market.
Officials said the agreement reflects the shared commitment between UWA and Marasa to responsible tourism, environmental conservation and the long-term protection of Uganda’s wildlife resources while supporting socio-economic development through tourism.
The renewal comes as Uganda continues to pursue increased tourism arrivals and private sector investment under the country’s broader strategy to position the Pearl of Africa as one of the continent’s leading nature and wildlife destinations.
