Kiryandogo, Uganda: Three vulnerable students in Kibanda South have received a lifeline after Joanitah Cartel Foundation Uganda cleared their outstanding school fees and provided scholastic support to enable them to continue with their education.

The support was extended under the leadership of the Foundation’s directors, Hon. Jacob Karubanga Ateenyi, the Member of Parliament for Kibanda South, and Mrs. Bwiga Joan Grace, as part of the organisation’s continued efforts to promote access to education for learners from disadvantaged families.

The beneficiaries are Basemera Joseline and Karungi Reacheal, both Senior One students at Kigumba Senior Secondary School, and Olel Stephen, a Senior One student at Kitwanga Town Seed Secondary School.

The Foundation cleared UGX 450,000 in outstanding school fees for Basemera Joseline, enabling her to resume her studies without any pending balance.

Expressing her gratitude, Joseline thanked the Foundation for investing in her future.

“I sincerely thank Hon. Jacob Karubanga Ateenyi, Mrs. Bwiga Joan Grace, and Joanitah Cartel Foundation Uganda for believing in my future. Having my school fees fully cleared gives me peace of mind and allows me to concentrate on my studies. I am determined to work hard, excel academically, and make the Foundation proud for investing in my education,” she said.

The Foundation also settled the entire UGX 450,000 outstanding school fees balance for Karungi Reacheal, another Senior One student at Kigumba Senior Secondary School.

Reacheal described the support as life-changing.

“This support has removed a huge burden from my family. I no longer have to worry about being sent home because of school fees. I extend my sincere gratitude to Hon. Jacob Karubanga Ateenyi, Mrs. Bwiga Joan Grace, and Joanitah Cartel Foundation Uganda for giving me another chance to pursue my dreams. I promise to remain focused on my studies and make this opportunity count,” she said.

At Kitwanga Town Seed Secondary School, the Foundation supported Olel Stephen with an education package worth UGX 280,000, comprising UGX 200,000 for school fees covering the first and second terms and UGX 80,000 for a complete school uniform.

Stephen said the assistance had restored hope for his education.
