Minister Kasolo donates 10 Laptops to boost digital learning at Former School

The minister also revealed that he had successfully lobbied for UGX 300 million to support infrastructure and development projects at Nakasoga Secondary School, describing education as one of the most important investments in Uganda’s future.

Kyotera, Uganda: Acting Foreign Affairs Minister and State Minister for Regional Affairs, Hon. Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo, has donated 10 laptops to Nakasoga Secondary School in Kyotera and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the institution’s growth.

Kasolo, an old boy, had returned to the school over the weekend, describing the reunion as a nostalgic homecoming to witness his former school continue nurturing learners through education, culture, creativity, and discipline.

“Returning to Nakasoga Secondary School as an Old Boy and serving as the Chief Guest during this year’s Music, Dance and Drama (MDD) competitions was a truly special and nostalgic moment,” Kasolo said.

He commended the learners for their outstanding performances, attributing the success to the dedication of teachers and the commitment of the wider school community.

“I am proud to see my former school continuing to nurture young people through education, culture, creativity, and discipline. The impressive performances by the learners are a testament to the dedication of the teachers and the commitment of the entire school community,” he added.

As part of his support towards improving learning at the school, Kasolo handed over 10 laptop computers to strengthen digital learning and ICT integration.

The minister also revealed that he had successfully lobbied for UGX 300 million to support infrastructure and development projects at Nakasoga Secondary School, describing education as one of the most important investments in Uganda’s future.

“As part of my contribution to the school’s continued growth, I handed over 10 laptops to support digital learning, in addition to the UGX 300 million that I successfully lobbied for towards the school’s development,” he said.

Kasolo pledged to continue supporting the institution that shaped his education and encouraged learners to make the most of the opportunities available to them.

“Nakasoga Secondary School will always hold a special place in my heart. I remain committed to supporting initiatives that improve learning opportunities and empower the next generation to realize their full potential,” he said.

The donation comes as government and education stakeholders continue to promote the integration of digital technologies in schools to enhance teaching and learning while preparing students for an increasingly technology-driven economy.
