Kampala, Uganda: Victoria University has welcomed nearly 5,000 students for its July 2026 intake, marking one of the institution’s largest enrolments as it continues to attract learners from Uganda, East Africa and beyond.
The three-day orientation programme, running from July 15 to 17, introduced the new students to university life, academic programmes and the institution’s student-centred learning environment.
Speaking on Thursday on day two of the orientation, Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr Lawrence Muganga described the orientation as an inspiring milestone, saying the overwhelming enrolment reflects growing confidence in the university’s academic model.
“There are moments that remind you why you do what you do. The two days of our July Intake Orientation, on July 15 and 16, have been exactly that: inspiring, energising, and filled with hope,” Muganga said.
The VC noted that every admission represents not only a student’s ambition but also the confidence placed in the university by parents and guardians.
“Seeing nearly 5,000 students choose Victoria University is both humbling and inspiring because we know that behind every admission is a dream, a family’s trust, and a student ready to shape their future.”
Dr Muganga expressed gratitude to parents, guardians and students from Uganda, the East African region and the wider international community for choosing the institution.
He welcomed both on-campus and online learners, reaffirming the university’s commitment to delivering future-oriented education that equips students with practical skills and knowledge for an evolving global job market.

“Whether you are with us on campus or learning with us digitally, welcome to a community that believes in future-proof education and is committed to helping every student become the best version of themselves.”
Muganga encouraged the new students to embrace the opportunities ahead and make the most of their university experience. “The journey has only just begun, and we are grateful to be part of it. We cannot wait to see you grow, challenge yourselves, and become the people you aspire to be.”
The strong July intake comes as Victoria University continues expanding its academic programmes, digital learning platforms and research initiatives, positioning itself as one of Uganda’s fastest-growing private universities.
VU has in recent years positioned itself as a leader in transformational education through technology-enabled learning, work-integrated programmes, entrepreneurship, innovation and industry partnerships designed to prepare graduates for the modern workplace.
