Kampala, Uganda: The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has deployed 2,200 mobilisers across the country to support the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the forthcoming LC1 and Women Council elections.
The mobilisation teams, flagged off by ONC Manager Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo on Monday, comprise ONC coordinators, pressure groups and representatives from the informal sector.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Namyalo urged the teams to replicate the commitment they demonstrated during President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s previous mobilisation campaigns to help the ruling party secure victory in the village-level elections.
“Work as hard as you did for the President to ensure victory in both the Women Council and Local Council elections,” Namyalo told the mobilisers.
The Chief Muzzukulu thanked President Museveni, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman, for facilitating the mobilisation exercise. She said the support would enable the teams to conduct grassroots mobilisation as the party seeks to strengthen its structures ahead of the elections.
Hajjat Namyalo has consistently emphasised the office’s role in mobilising support for the NRM and monitoring the implementation of government programmes across the country.
Mobilisers Pledge Victory
Representatives of the mobilisation teams thanked Hajjat for facilitating the exercise and pledged to work towards delivering victory for NRM candidates in the upcoming LC1 and Women Council elections.
The deployment forms part of the NRM’s ongoing grassroots mobilisation efforts as the party prepares for internal village-level electoral processes across Uganda.
