Mbarara City FC defeated Vipers SC 1-0 as the venoms unbeaten start to the season came to in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League came to an end.

Former Vipers SC forward Henry Kitegenyi scored the only goal of the contest after racing onto a long ball and applying a neat dinked finish.

Mbarara City Defender Ramathan Karim was named Pilsner Man of Match following an emphatic display at the backline to see his team walk away with 3 points.

The matchday result sees Vipers stay second on the League standings with 27 points, behind leaders Express FC who beat Busoga United 1-0 on Friday to go on top with 28 points, while Mbarara City climb into 10th spot with 13 points from 12 games.

In the next fixtures of the UPL, Mbarara City will look forward to a second consecutive win when they visit Onduparaka FC on Tuesday March 9, while Vipers hosts SC Villa on Wednesday March 10.
