Ugandan promising youngster, Allan Okello, who currently plies his trade at Kitende-based Vipers SC, has made a long-awaited comeback after returning on grass at St Mary’s Stadium.

This marks a significant milestone in his recovery journey from a debilitating cartilage injury that sidelined him since May.

The injury, discovered earlier this year, necessitated three months of dedicated rehabilitation. Okello, known for his finesse on the field, took a substantial step towards rejoining the first-team action.

He was captured in a series of photographs, demonstrating his ability to kick the ball and run, showcasing a remarkable display of progress in his healing process.

Standing by his side were Vipers SC team doctor, Michael Lule, and the diligent strength and conditioning coach, Ibrahim Kato, whose guidance and support have played an instrumental role in Okello’s recovery.

From the infectious smile adorning his face, it was evident that this moment was one of immense joy and relief for the talented player, as he traded the confines of the gym for the familiar embrace of the turf.

Coach Leo Neiva and Okello’s teammates were quick to extend their heartfelt congratulations, acknowledging the sheer determination and hard work that brought him to this pivotal juncture.

The collective spirit within the team resonated with the shared excitement for Okello’s impending return.

Uganda Premier League reigning Champions Vipers SC confirmed the signing of the attacking midfielder in September this year.

The left-footed creative gem joined Vipers SC as a free agent, after mutually terminating his contract with Algerian outfit Paradou AC.

Initially projected to be sidelined until the conclusion of the first round of the current campaign, Okello’s swift progress suggests that he may make a comeback sooner than anticipated, potentially rejoining the squad before the first half of the season draws to a close.

This development promises to inject a renewed vigour into both Okello and the team, as they set their sights on achieving their collective goals for the season ahead.
