US Ambassador urges young leaders on Civic Engagement, Digital Advocacy for societal change

Kampala, (UG):- The United States Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. William W. Popp has urged Ugandan young leaders to make use of their leadership positions to cause a positive change within the societies they live in.

“You’ve demonstrated that leadership is not just about holding positions of power; it’s about taking purposeful action, nurturing community values, and influencing positive change. This isn’t just about building your resumes; it’s about building your nation, together,” H.E William Popp said.

The Ambassador was speaking as a Chief Guest to students and young leaders who attended the 2024 PACE Academy National Summit on Saturday, April 13 2024 at Makerere University in Kampala. The event was hosted by Michigan Fellows Africa Initiatives (MFAI).

According to Ambassador Popp, the US and stakeholders are very much committed to nurturing Ugandan young leaders through such summits to make a difference for a collective future that befits all citizens.

“This summit reaffirms our commitment to nurturing a future led by informed, engaged, and proactive young citizens. Your readiness to lead and make a difference is not just inspiring—it’s essential for our collective future,” he emphasized.
