Mengo, Buganda:- The Uganda Law Society (ULS) has purchased 100 running kits worth Shs 2 million for bar members aiming to participate in the upcoming Kabaka Birthday Run, scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025.
The contribution was delivered by a ULS delegation led by Vice President Asiimwe Anthony and Treasurer Arthur Isiko, who on Wednesday visited Bulange Mengo to pay homage to the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, a distinguished member of the Bar.
“Our Most Perpendicular Vice President, Asiimwe Anthony, Treasurer Isiko Arthur, and Council Members Eddie Nangulu (Eastern) and Egaru Emmanuel (Northern) this afternoon led a High Level Delegation to Bulange, Mmengo, representing our #RadicalNewBar President Isaac Ssemakadde to pay homage to the Katikkiro of Buganda & our Most Venerable Member Charles Peter Mayiga, who is spearheading the Kabaka’s Birthday Run that is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, 6 April 2025,” ULS posted on Wednesday evening.
“The delegation, which handed over Shs. 2M/- to purchase 100 running kits for our marathon-fit members, was joined by staff representatives from our Secretariat, and select #BackOnTrack honchos,” the statement added.
The First Deputy Katikkiro, Hon. Prof. Twaha Kaawaase, who represented Katikkiro Mayiga, expressed gratitude for their involvement in the celebration of the Kabaka’s birthday and the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Vice President Asiimwe pledged to mobilize ULS members to participate in large numbers in the run, emphasizing that the cause is important to everyone.
About the Kabaka Birthday Run
The Kabaka Birthday Run, now in its 12th edition, is organized under the theme “Men for Good Health to Save the Girl Child,” focusing on raising awareness and funds to combat HIV/AIDS in Uganda.
The Kabaka Birthday Run is a significant annual event in the Buganda Kingdom, celebrating the birthday of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, who will turn 70 this year.
This year’s run will feature three race categories: 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 5 kilometers, accommodating participants of varying fitness levels. The event not only promotes physical well-being but also serves as a platform to address critical health issues affecting the community.
