Kampala, Uganda:- The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC-NRM), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, on Saturday led a wave of national tributes during a star-studded event celebrating 40 years of artistic excellence by veteran actor and singer Sam Bagenda, famously known as Dr. Bbosa.
The grand event, held at Hotel Africana in Kampala, themed “40 Years of Dr. Bbosa & Book Launch,” honoured Bagenda’s contributions to Uganda’s entertainment and cultural landscape. The celebration also marked the launch of his new motivational book titled “Dr. Bbosa’s 5 Ps.”
Gracing the colourful event, Hajjat Namyalo, who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, hailed the celebrated Ebonies star as “a legend and a role model”, applauding his mentorship of young Ugandans and his immense contribution to Uganda’s entertainment and cultural heritage.
“Dr. Bbosa has mentored so many people, especially Bazzukulu, some of whom are even my relatives, leading promising lives here and outside Uganda. As the Office of the National Chairman and as a proud Ugandan, we thank you for being a role model,” said Hajjat Namyalo. “Thank you for lifting Uganda’s creative industry to greater heights.”
“Today, I am deeply honoured to be part of the few people gathered here not just to celebrate a man, but a legend and an icon whose voice, presence, and talent have echoed across generations and touched the hearts of Ugandans,” she added.

In show of support towards the veteran actor, the ONC boss also purchased Dr. Bbosa’s newly launched book on behalf of her office for $300, in appreciation for his legacy.
“Dr. Bbosa, for forty years, you have graced our stages, screens, and hearts. Through your role in The Ebonies, you have not only entertained us but educated, inspired, and united Bazzukulu Ba Kaguta Museveni from all walks of life. And today, we applaud not just your stage legacy, but also your wisdom—captured beautifully in your newly launched book, Dr. Bbosa’s 5 Ps,” Hajjat remarked.
In his speech, Dr. Bbosa expressed gratitude to those who supported his journey and explained the meaning behind his book “Dr. Bbosa’s 5 Ps”, which stands for Prayer, Persistence, Patience, Positivity, and Passion, principles he says are key to living a fulfilling life.
“These five principles have guided me throughout my life and career. They define who I am and how I’ve managed to stay relevant and fulfilled in my passion for the arts,” said Dr. Bbosa.
The prestigious celebration was further dignified by the presence of Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, the Minister for Kampala, who represented President Yoweri Museveni as the Guest of Honour.

Also in attendance were senior government officials including Gen. Katumba Wamala (Minister of Works and Transport), Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa (Minister of Energy), Prince David Wasajja, as well as dignitaries from the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), and cultural icons such as Halimah Namakula, Pastor Wilson Bugembe, and Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, among others.
