Las Vegas, USA: His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, the Umukuka III of the Bamasaaba people, has been affirmed as a knight and global cultural steward during the 7th annual We Care for Humanity International (WCH) summit held at the Gold Coast Hotel on Flamingo Road in Las Vegas, USA.
The affirmation ceremony, attended by royalty and cultural leaders from across Africa, Asia, and South America, included joint declarations by other monarchs such as the Sebaruli of Buruli and kings from Benin and Asia, pledging to serve as custodians of culture and protectors of the Earth.
The spokesperson of the Bamasaaba Cultural Institution, Mr. Steven Masiga, told DailyExpress that the event was presided over by Her Royal Highness Queen Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, the WCH Chairperson, who invited the prospective knighthoods to step forward and affirm their commitment to global peace, environmental protection, and cultural preservation.
“Each leader made a solemn affirmation to serve as a protector of peace, the Earth, and culture. This is a significant honor for His Highness and for the Bamasaaba people at large,” Masiga said.
In his acceptance speech shared on his official channels, Umukuka Jude Mike Mudoma pledged to champion cultural values and kindness across humanity. He also extended an invitation to WCH to consider hosting its 8th summit in the Kingdom of Bugisu.
“I pledge to serve as a cultural champion and be kind to mankind. Bugisu is ready to host the next summit,” the Umukuka stated.
According to Masiga, the recognition of a knighthood or damehood is among the highest global honors, often associated with titles such as “Sir” or “Dame” and reserved for distinguished contributions to humanity.
The Bamasaaba community in Uganda is now preparing to give their cultural leader a heroic welcome. Celebrations are expected to erupt across Mbale City and the Bugisu region upon his return from the United States.
“From Entebbe Airport, fleets of cars, Lumasaba music, and jubilant crowds will mark his return. The police leadership has been duly informed to ensure a smooth reception,” Masiga confirmed.
The ceremony was attended by prominent Bamasaaba personalities in the diaspora, including Prof. Florence Wakoko, the Bamasaaba Cultural Ambassador to the United States and Canada, and Dr. Jane Gidudu from Atlanta, Georgia.
