Entebbe, Uganda: The Umukuka of the Bamasaaba, His Highness Sir Jude Mike Mudoma, and the Emorimor of the Iteso, His Highness Sir Paul Sande Emolot, returned to Uganda on Wednesday night following a high-profile international humanitarian summit in the United States, where both were knighted for their exemplary leadership and service.
The two cultural leaders touched down at Entebbe International Airport at 10:00 PM aboard a KLM flight and were warmly received by a delegation led by Rt. Hon. Dr. Paul Wamubu, Prime Minister of the Bugisu Cultural Institution, his deputy, Rt. PM Dr. Clet Wandui, and Attorney General Hon. Richard Masereje, among other dignitaries.
Speaking to DailyExpress, Bugisu Cultural Institution spokesperson Steven Masiga said the monarchs had travelled to the U.S. on invitation to attend the prestigious We Care for Humanity International Summit, held in Las Vegas. The event culminated in both leaders being knighted and officially receiving the honorary title of “Sir.”
“This recognition was based on their outstanding contributions to the well-being and advancement of their respective communities. They are now globally recognized as knights of humanity,” Masiga noted.
The Chairperson of We Care for Humanity International (WCH), Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, hailed the Bugisu and Teso monarchs as transformational leaders devoted to progress and humanity.
Other high-profile figures knighted at the summit included Kenyan Senator Hon. Karen Nyamu, Ms. Gloria Caiole, Vice President of the Filipino American Heritage Federation, and Dr. Nem Singh, Chairperson of the World International Human Rights Organization.
Both His Highnesses travelled with their spouses, ministers, and equerries from their respective cultural institutions, demonstrating a strong commitment to global networking and partnership building.
The Umukuka, Sir Jude Mike Mudoma, is expected to travel to Mbale on Friday, June 06, where he will officially address the media regarding his U.S. tour and the significance of the knighthood for the Bamasaaba people.
