Kampala, Uganda: Victoria University has appointed Ms Meera Ruparelia as the new Representative of Directors to the University Council, marking a new leadership phase since the death of city businessman and education investor Rajiv Ruparelia.
Ms Meera steps into the council seat previously held by her late brother Rajiv, whose influence was instrumental in shaping Victoria University’s modern, innovation-focused identity.
The university confirmed in a statement dated April 16, 2026, that Ms Meera Ruparelia has already been sworn into the role, positioning her at the centre of strategic decision-making at one of Uganda’s fastest-growing private universities.
Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the institution, which is continuing to consolidate its position as a hub for industry-driven, experiential learning in Uganda’s higher education sector.
In her inaugural remarks, Ms Ruparelia pledged to strengthen the university’s alignment with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with a focus on bridging the gap between academia and industry.
Who is Meera Ruparelia?
