Pallisa, Uganda: Police in Pallisa District have launched investigations and a manhunt for a runaway suspect pinned in a case of aggravated sodomy involving a four-year-old boy.

The incident occurred on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Kalaraka Cell in Pallisa Town Council. According to police, the victim (names withheld for being minor) had been playing with neighbouring children at around 1:00 pm while his mother, Lunyolo Ritah, 27, was attending to housework.

The child was later reported missing at around 2:00pm, prompting an immediate search. He was subsequently found unconscious in an unfinished house a short distance from home, with severe injuries.

Bukedi North Regional Police Spokesperson Wilfred Kyempasa confirmed that key forensic exhibits were recovered from the scene, while the case has been registered under SD 37/27/04/2026 and CRB 181/2026, as the victim receives medical treatment.

“Police recovered a blood-stained pair of the victim’s shorts and an anal swab for DNA analysis,” Kyempasa said, adding that investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.

The incident has raised concern among residents, with some citing previous cases of defilement in the area, though describing this case as particularly disturbing due to the victim’s age.

Police have appealed to the public to provide any information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the suspect, and advised parents to remain vigilant and closely monitor children.
