Iganga, Uganda: Kigulu Early Empowerment Program (KEEP) has officially unveiled its Executive Board in a major step aimed at accelerating community development and household empowerment across Kigulu Chiefdom.

The unveiling ceremony and inaugural board meeting were held Tuesday, May 05, at the organization’s headquarters within Kigulu Chiefdom.

The registered Community-Based Organisation (CBO), conceived by Luganda Paul under the Obwakyabazinga Initiative and backed by Kigulu Prince Chris Mudoola as patron, seeks to spearhead development projects targeting women, youth, children, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable households across all 11 cultural sub-counties.

The newly constituted board is chaired by Waiswa Bateme, deputized by Nangobi Yudaya. Luganda Paul will serve as Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, while other board members include Mudoola Miika, Kyakuwaire Rehema and Mudhabadha Michael.

The organisation’s founding body is composed of sub-chiefs from all the 11 cultural sub-counties within Kigulu Chiefdom.

Speaking after the inaugural meeting, CEO Luganda Paul expressed confidence that the initiative would produce meaningful impact through community-focused interventions.

“I am convinced that our commitment to impactful initiatives will empower the vulnerable groups in the community,” Luganda said.

Prince Mudoola Miika, who also serves as State Minister for Tourism in Kigulu Chiefdom, said the organization intends to collaborate with stakeholders to address pressing social and economic challenges.

“We expect the organization to work closely with all stakeholders to implement impactful community-driven projects aimed at solving pressing challenges and advancing the development agenda,” he said.

According to officials, KEEP will operate from a permanent office within the chiefdom and will focus on promoting the interests of Busoga Kingdom and Kigulu through practical grassroots solutions.

The organization was formally launched earlier this year in Buwaira, Iganga District, during a tour of the 11 cultural sub-counties led by Prince Chris Mudoola.
