PSG thrash Inter Milan 5-0 to win historic UEFA Champions League title

PSG players led by captain Marquinhos lift the UCL trophy for the first after that historic 5-0 final win over Inter Milan

Munich, Germany: Paris Saint-Germain stunned European football on Saturday night with a ruthless 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final at the Allianz Arena in Munich, securing their first-ever European crown in emphatic fashion.

19-year-old Desire Doue was the star of the night, netting twice to earn the Man of the Match award, as goals from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and fellow teenager Senny Mayulu completed a historic rout for the newly crowned Ligue 1 champions.

The result marked the biggest winning margin in a Champions League final since AC Milan’s 4-0 win over Barcelona in 1994, and also sealed Luis Enrique’s second personal UCL title as manager, his first since guiding Barcelona to glory in 2015.

PSG wasted no time asserting their dominance, with former Inter right-back Hakimi opening the scoring in the 12th minute after a clever one-two with Vitinha caught the Nerazzurri defence flat-footed.

Just eight minutes later, Doue doubled the lead when his strike took a deflection off Federico Dimarco to wrong-foot Yann Sommer in goal.

Inter Milan, appearing sluggish and defensively overwhelmed, struggled to contain PSG’s relentless tempo. The French side maintained composure and control throughout, silencing the Italian giants’ attacking threats and capitalizing clinically on every opportunity.

Doue bagged his brace in the 63rd minute, expertly placing a left-footed strike into the far corner. The fourth goal came courtesy of Georgian winger Kvaratskhelia in the 73rd minute, when his curling effort left no chance for Sommer.

Desire Doue celebrates his second goal of the night en route to PSG’s historic 5-0 UEFA Champions League final win.

With just four minutes to play, 19-year-old substitute Senny Mayulu capped off the spectacle, scoring with his first touch to seal an unforgettable night for the Parisians.

The triumph marks redemption for PSG, who last featured in a Champions League final in 2020 but lost narrowly to Bayern Munich courtesy of a Kingsley Coman strike in Lisbon, Portugal.

The club’s Qatari-backed project finally hit continental success after years of near misses and heartbreaks, cementing Luis Enrique’s legacy and ushering in a new era led by youthful talent.
