Kampala, Uganda: A total of forty-one senior police officers from the Senior Command and Staff College Intake have commenced a five-day national study tour aimed at strengthening their leadership skills and broadening their understanding of Uganda’s key development sectors.
The study tour, which runs from June 30 to July 4, 2025, is part of the Uganda Police Force’s strategy to professionalise its leadership and improve strategic command across the institution.
According to officials, the programme will expose the officers to Uganda’s critical economic and innovation pillars, including industry, agriculture, research and development, the service sector, and anti-crime infrastructure.
During the tour, the officers will visit selected institutions and facilities to gain firsthand knowledge of national industrial progress, technological advancements, and economic priorities.
Police leadership believe that such exposure will strengthen innovative thinking and strategic planning among command-level officers.
The Uganda Police Force has, in recent years, prioritised leadership development as part of wider reforms aimed at improving operational effectiveness and community trust.
Officials say the initiative will ultimately build a cadre of professional leaders equipped to support national development and maintain law and order in an evolving security environment.
